Lo, I am become Death,

Destroyer of WIPs. :) I've been on a bit of a finishing kick lately. Something about deadlines and finally getting my ambition back after this damn heat has broken. I also, happily, discovered that my digital camera is OK after all. It just has a counter-intuitive battery gauge.

Finished:
Baby Kimono: I DID have enough for both booties! Of course, I have, like, three yards of yarn left over, but that’s kind of the point. I handed the whole thing off to Borealis before I snapped a pic of the booties, but they didn't photograph particularly well anyway. Here's the sweater.

Silk Garden Cardigan: Thanks to a temperate few days that got me thinking of fall, and an edition of Crap From The Past, it got its buttons, got blocked, and I wore it last weekend! I love it. Check it out:

Top-down Raglan for A4A: Well, there’s a sweater challenge going on right now at Afghans for Afghans. Thanks to a great sale on Lamb’s Pride Bulky, and some swap yarn from Madam, I have a top-down raglan for an approximately six-year-old kid, all ready by the mid-September deadline.

Requiring Finishing:

Schaeffer Anne Victorian Baby Sweater: Its sleeves are in, which I managed without having to add more rows (hooray). I have one little i-cord tie left to knit, then it's attachment and final end-weaving. Woo!

Party-Time Apron: Guess what I worked on all Labor Day weekend? It's finished, except for the button, which I hope to find at Borealis today. Just in time to give to Babs at the great FNPP reunion next Friday. The Poker Party returns to the air, baby! Yes, it's large, but you totally need to see the diamond patterning. Crazy!

On the Needles:

Squid's Boundary Waters Sweater: Starting plugging away on the front. Men’s sweaters are so darn big. I’d like to have it done for him this fall, however. Signs are looking good.

Yet another pair of sox: Cuff’s a couple of inches long, and I’m really liking the pattern. I am, however, a little worried that it’s not going to be loose enough to wear—my gauge might be a little too tight. We shall see. It’s nowhere near tragic-to-rip-out at this point.

In the hoop:
Yeah, still radio-silence.

Reading: Finished The Shelters of Stone. I moved on to The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. I loved The Secret History, so I'm hopeful this one will be as good.
