Block(ing) Party

I love a lazy weekend at the lake. It means I get a lot of knitting done without the chores around my own house nagging at me to do them. The pile of waiting-to-be-finished-objects just keeps on growing—I’d like to get a lot of them seamed this weekend.

Finished: Nothing 100% finished since last time, but here’s the list of the invitees to the block- and seam-party:

Requiring Finishing:
Tank Girl Tank: It’s warm enough to wear it now, but it still needs its seams.

Bunny Hat: Cuteness pending!

Devan: Can you believe it? All pieces knitted—just need to do a little blocking and it’s ready to put together and have its button band picked up.

Wendy’s Felted Cat Bed: I was so darn tired of fine-gauge knitting that I did this for instant gratification. As luck would have it, my parents just adopted two new kittens, and my dad has a birthday coming up . . . . Done in Big Kureyon—reds/greens/purples, and some crazy chartreuse and flaming orangey pink eyelash for trim. As Squid said, “Well, the barf won’t show on it, that’s for sure.” I don’t think it was a compliment. ;)

On the Needles:
Sock: No change.

Baby Kimono: Cruising nicely up the back—about 7” completed out of 10 or so. I want to get this last piece finished, then start the blocking and seaming extravaganza.

In the hoop:
Merry Cox Sailor's Huswif: No change.
Joe and Sally Snow: No change.
Wedding Snowflake Hardanger: Metallic-thread eyelets still suck.
Floral afghan: No change.

Obligatory Cultural References
Reading: Finished Assassination Vacation. Have officially given up on Under the Volcano, and am seriously considering giving away the book. Now re-reading Wicked, which is our next book club selection, which I enjoyed the first time, so have high hopes for this time.
