Yo, Leems, where ya been?

At work, why do you ask?

I just finished up a particularly arduous couple of months at work, and realized I hadn't touched this in ages. Here's what I've been up to:

Requiring Finishing:

Baby Kimono: No change. Just haven't felt that seaming feeling.

Silk Garden Cardigan: Buttons purchased, but in my haste to try to finish Squid’s BWCA sweater before he goes up north (um . . . not gonna happen, see below), it’s been languishing on the back of the couch, unloved.

On the Needles:
Party-Time Apron: No change.

The Ferret Sock: No change.

Squid's Boundary Waters Sweater: Well, the 1.5 inches of sleeve turned into 26 (!) after I finished all the increases. Which was, of course, way too long. As it turns out, my gauge was closer to four sts/in, rather than five, which meant that sleeve turned out waaaay too big. It was ripped out with a curse and re-knit to a saner size at its real gauge. So, I have 2 (well, three, but who’s counting) sleeves, and a back, which I just completed in the car on my way back from Madison, WI this past weekend. A front and blocking/seaming before Squid’s departure today just didn't happen.

Charity Mittens: Well, most of the way into mitten #1, I realized I’d used over half of my yarn. Boo hiss. So, I ripped it out (sensing a trend?), then split the ball into two halves so I won’t make that mistake again as I re-knit those mitts in a smaller size.

The next pair of socks: Oooh, Trekking 100. I’m working up the foot on sock #1, according to Wendy’s dandy toe-up pattern, but it too has gotten rudely shoved to the side in favor of Boundary Waters Sweaterage.

In the hoop:

Lauren Sauer Prework: I finished the Sea Squirt Pincushion prework, no problem, and even completed the project in class. (I KNOW!) Of course, the treasure chest lid did not go quite as quickly (hello tons of over-one and metallic!), so it didn’t get done—50% ain’t bad.

C.A. Wells Needle Cottage: No change.

Edward Scissorfish
: No change.
